Tuesday, March 1, 1927                                                   fair & colder

Did  usual work. watered cows etc. Oscar & I went down st with Dolly in the p.m. The road is like a tunnel.

Wednesday, March 2, 1927                                          fair & warmer

Did usual work. Made three pies & took Jean for a sleigh ride met “Mim” and took her part way home. Called Dad up tonight. He is snowed in. Harry butchered a calf & steer the p.m. Stewart was down in the a.m. Today is Ash Wednesday.

Thursday, March 3, 1927                                               cold & fair

Mim stayed down all night. We had the girls over & made ice cream. Carol & I went down st in the p.m. & nearly froze. Jean slept all evening.

Friday, March 4 1927                                                       fair & cold

Did about the usual things. Oscar took Dr. Bailey over to Ralph Rice’s with Baron and had to lead him part way. Didn’t get home until late. Jean set up until we went to bed.

Saturday, March 5                                                            fair & warm

Let Sandy out to the Hues today, four dollars. Took Jean down st with us this p.m. she had a great time. Sold twelve dozen eggs & pd telephone bill. Haven’t needed a girl much as Mr. Bailey takes care of Jean a lot while I work.

Sunday, March 6                                                         fair & warm

Let Dolly to Kelton Southard andf his mother. $2.50. Oscar borrowed Ed White’s rig & took Jean and me for a short ride. Gave our bill to Dan Page to collect from the Jews. Verna & Harry were up also Maurice Foye.

Monday, March 7                                                       cloudy

Oscar & Harry had a regular circus with Cohen. The whole town turned out but I guess they finally got the money. I went with Oscar in the p.m. and bought Jean a new pair of shoes with part of my share of the “Kole.”

Tuesday, March 8                                                     rainy

Jean didn’t sleep well last night and had been about half sick all day. She is cutting an eye tooth too. Let Sandy this p.m.  for four dollars.

Wednesday, March 9, 1927                                fair & windy

  Did about usual work. Miss Fiske called this a.m. House looked like a whirlwind. Jean felt o.k. today. Didn’t have a nap. I rode Sandy down to get him shod. Stewart was here. i looked for Dad all day but he didn’t come.

Thursday, March 10                                               fair & warm

Took Jean for a sleigh ride. Met Mim & changed my books. She is coming up Sat.

Friday, March 11                                                       fair & warm

Who should appear but Dad & Strout. Mr. B. Went down st for the first time. They stayed to dinner & Dad bought Shay’s sheep. Mim came up after school. I drove Baron. Oscar went down st and played pool this evg.

Saturday, March 12                                               fair & warm

Mim did most of the work. Picked up a skunk by the tail. Hot Dog. Frank bought the dog over. Also a pup. Mim & I took Jean sleighing this p.m.. We went to the movies & Oscar put Jean to bed for the first time.

Sunday, March 13                                                  fair & warm

Jean & I took Mim home. Last sleigh ride for the season, I guess. Stewart was down this a.m. Fred Merry & Mr. Marsh were up this p.m. Willard came up and stayed all night.

Monday, March 14                                                 foggy & colder

Got up about 5:30 this a.m. Willard built the fire. Town meeting today. Stayed home all day. Oscar brought Jean & me home some ice cream. Expect Alice tomorrow. Harry & Oscar heard a flock of geese tonight.

Tuesday, March 15                                               fair & warm

Regular March day but warm. Jean & I went down to the train to get Alice. Oscar put Jean to bed tonight & Alice & me took Old Dan & went to the movies. Let Dolly today.

Wednesday, March 16                                      fair & warm

Alice, Jean & I took old Sandy & drove across the new road. It was lovely and warm. this evening I got the girls to come over and keep house while I went down to Harry’s to listen to the radio. Mr. B wouldn’t go to bed and leave her till we go home.

Thursday, March 17                                          fair & warm

Alice went home this p.m. We took her to the train in the truck. It has been a lovely warm day. I’ve had the Baby out a lot. Mr. B. is all right now. He has been down street. St. Patrick’s Day card party at the Inn tonight. Harry & Verna went.

Friday, March 18                                               cloudy & colder

Let Sandy to Mr. Wentworth to go to Head Tide. Did about usual work. Took Dolly to Blacksmith shop. Jean stayed with Gramp. First thunder storm of the year tonight about 4:30. Harry’s cow kicked him over tonight by way of excitement. Jean didn’t get a ride today.

Saturday, March 19                                         fair & colder

Did usual Sats work. Went down st in a.m. with Oscar. Took Jean. Changed my books.

Sunday, March 20                                           cloudy & mild

Had vanilla ice cream for lunch & went out to Piper Knight’s in the afternoon and Piper wasn’t at home. Verna sick with cold. Oscar did work alone tonight. Jean went to bed quite early. Mr. B went for a drive with Baron. Harry bought a pig, much to Sandy’s disgust.

Monday, March 21                                             warm & snow

Snowed enough to be nasty. Took Jean out to the barn for awhile. Verna has been quite sick with a cold. Stayed home all day.

Tuesday, March 22                                            cloudy & cold

Went down & changed my book. Jean like to ride around down street. Had a letter from Lucy. Verna is a little better today.

Wednesday, March 23                                    fair & cold

Verna better. Harry butchered his hog today. Oscar, Jean & I went down st this p.m. & did a few errands. The Big Black Cow had a heifer calf tonight. Mr. B sold half a case of eggs. Mr. Munsey came up & got Dan this a.m.

Thursday, March 24                                   fair & cold

Changed my books today. Took Jean down in the truck.

Friday, March 25                                          fair & cold

Went down st  at night a few min.  Didn’t take Jean. It was too cold. Expect Mim tomorrow.

Saturday, March 26                                 fair & warmer

Mim cam down and helped me today. We took Jean for a ride this p.m. Oscar & me went to Morris’ tonight. Mr. Bailey went to Damaricotta with Baron.

Sunday, March 27                                     fair & warmer

Mim rode Sandy home this a.m. & cam back and stayed with Jean while we went to Woolwich. Roads fair. Turner was over tonight also. Mrs. White & Doris & Maurice Foye. Jean sat up until eight o’ clock then she got tired and said bedy, bedy.

Monday, March 28                                    fair & cold

Been down st twice, once with Dolly & once in the truck. Took Jean. Oscar stopped and caught a Drake in Southards pond & brought him home by the neck. Frank S. & his son-in-law were over to see us today.

Tuesday, March 29                                          fair & warm

Jean & I took a walk this a.m. I hauled her down st on the kiddy wagon. what a job. I was lame as the dickens tonight. Mrs. Sewall died today.

Wednesday, March 30                              cloudy & cold

Poor old Bill is sick. Has been for a day or two. Chester Farmer was over but didn’t trade with Mr. B. Oscar had to take Dr. Bailey to make some calls this p.m. Jean & I rode down st. in the truck.

Thursday, March 31                                          Rainy

Last day of March, Harry butchered his two pigs. I went down & changes my books. Jean stayed with her grandfather. Oscar got up about ten o’clock and took a lineman out to mind the C.M. cable. Five bucks. Not so bad.
